My Love2Shop Gift Card is not working: What can I do?

There are several reasons why a Love2Shop Gift Card may not be working:

The card hasn't been activated. If the card was never activated after purchase, it won't be recognised at the checkout. This is one of the most frequent causes, especially if the initial activation step was missed.

The card has expired. Love2Shop Gift Cards have a 1-year validity period. If your card has already reached its expiry date, the balance will no longer be accessible.

The balance has already been used. The remaining balance may be lower than the amount you're trying to spend, or the card may have already been fully redeemed. Check your balance on the Love2Shop website. 

The card is not accepted at that retailer. Not every retailer accepts the Love2Shop Gift Card. If you're trying to use it somewhere outside the Love2Shop network, the payment will be declined.

The card details have been entered incorrectly. For online purchases, entering the card number or PIN incorrectly will result in a payment error. Even a single digit out of place is enough to prevent the transaction from going through.

The card has been damaged. For physical cards, if the magnetic strip or barcode has been scratched or damaged, it may not be readable at the checkout.

The steps below cover the most common issues with the Love2Shop Gift Card.  These don’t guarantee a fix in every situation, but they are a good starting point:

1. Check that the card has been activated. Visit the Love2Shop website and log into your account to check the card's status. Unactivated cards will need to be registered before they can be used.
    
2. Verify the expiry date. Check the card itself or the Love2Shop website to confirm it's still within its validity period.
    
3. Check the remaining balance. Log into your Love2Shop account or contact their customer service to find out how much credit is left. If the balance is lower than your purchase amount, you may need to use a second payment method for the difference.
    
4. Confirm the retailer accepts Love2Shop. Check the Love2Shop website for a list of participating retailers before attempting to use the card somewhere new.
    
5. Re-enter the card details carefully. Double-check that you've typed the card number and PIN correctly, paying close attention to any digits or letters that are easy to misread.
    
6. Inspect the physical card for damage. If the card looks scratched or worn, the barcode or magnetic strip may no longer be readable. In this case, contacting Love2Shop directly is the best option.

If you've worked through all of the above and the card still isn't working, get in touch with Love2Shop's customer service team directly. They'll be able to investigate and advise on possible next steps.

Activate the card as soon as you receive it. Don't wait until you're about to start spending. Activating your gift card straight away removes the risk of forgetting about it later.

Store the card safely. Keep physical cards somewhere clean and dry, and protect them from items that could scratch the magnetic strip. Also avoid bending the card or exposing it to heat.

Note the expiry date. Check the expiry date when you receive the card and set a reminder on your phone a few months before it expires.

Check the participating retailers before you shop. Confirm retailers are part of the Love2Shop network before shopping and attempting to use the card at the checkout.

Keep track of your balance. After each use, check how much balance is remaining. You can check your gift card balance through your Love2Shop online account.
